The 2010 Veramonte Chardonnay is a very golden light bodied wine with hues of bright yellow. Made of 100% Chardonnay, this wine presents mouth watering tropical fruit basket aromas with lightly buttered toast. On the palate is more of the same with a bright taste of peaches and tangerine. The acidity is well balanced and the finish is delightfully upbeat. This wine is lightly oaked and the flavors combine well for a great summertime sipper.

It's not that often that I get to taste two Malbec wines within a week, and even more scarce to taste two of such great quality in that time frame. The 2010 Amalaya Malbec blend combines 75% Malbec, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Syrah and 5% Tannat in a very bright red wine with incredible red fruit aromas. In the mouth is a juicy and intense combination of red raspberries, black cherries, pepper and kitchen spices. Towards the back end of the tasting some forest floor and a small amount of tinder box come through, but not at all overpowering. This wine has incredibly soft tannins and it is drinking very well right now. With 12,000 cases imported to the US it should be easy to find and one that I think you can enjoy for a couple of years.

This highly aromatic wine is nearly black in the glass and full of black fruit flavors, plum, dark chocolate and Asian spices. In the mouth the flavors combine effortlessly and the bold expressions of fruit lead way to a rich and powerful ending. The tannins are beautifully integrated and the small amount of Zinfandel added helps to provide a mouth watering finish. Another hit from R&B Cellars!

Even with warmer weather fast approaching, Malbec is one of the "it" wines right now. People love the nuances of its flavor profile, along with the enjoyment of a delicious red wine experience without the feeling of a heavier Cabernet. This estate wine is a dark reddish purple wine with tons of red fruit on the nose with a light spicy background. On the palate are flavors of red raspberries, cherry and blackberries with some medium toast, all combining with soft tannins to create a mouth watering tasting experience. If you are a fan of Malbec or want to try one, this is a great one to get.
