2009 Dry Creek Vineyard Estate Sauvignon Blanc DCV3

The 2009 Estate Sauvignon DCV3 from Dry Creek Vineyard is made from their Dry Creek Vineyard #3, the very first vineyard planted to Sauvignon Blanc grapes in the Dry Creek Valley.  It is easy to understand after tasting this wine why they are very proud of this distinguished vineyard and the small lots of wine that come from it.  While many Sauvignon Blanc can be categorized as having tropical fruit aromas and tastes, this one is more complex and to get the full appreciation of the aromas and mouthfeel I first tasted this at room temperature and then chilled.  There are some wonderful mineral undertones that mesh with the tropical fruits, combined with just a hint of spice that bring your senses to full enjoyment.  Acidic and refreshing, this wine matches wonderfully with seafood, salads, sushi and light pasta dishes.  I'd recommend contacting DCV as soon as possible to get your hands on this wine!

2008 Dry Creek Vineyard Old Vine Zinfandel

The 2008 Dry Creek Zinfandel is an old vines zin, made from an average vine age of a whopping 85 years old!  The color is blood red to the rim of the glass and mouth watering aromas of blackberry jam, plum, sweet tobacco, pepper and dark chocolate prevail.  In the mouth is a juicy and flavorful medium weight wine with a delicious fruit flavor combination that includes blackberries, plum, blueberry pie and lightly scorched earth.  The tannins are incredibly polished and silky and the acidity in the back palate leads to a long and satisfying finish.
