The 2007 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon from Burgess Cellars is another stellar example of the great Cabs that came out of the valley during this amazing year. This wine was decanted for about 70 minutes prior to tasting. Beautiful red color in the glass with black cherry dominating the nose. With the additional air time, aromas of cassis and cedar jumped on board. In the mouth is a classic example of fine Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, showing flavors of black cherry, black berry, plum, cassis, sweet vanilla and oak. The tannins are incredibly fine and flawlessly integrated. The finish on this wine is lingering and it is hard to believe you can get a fine Napa Valley Cabernet at this price!

It seems to cliche to say that you will simply say "Wow!" when you taste this wine, but if you've never had one of the 'Love' wines from Mollydooker, wow might just be your first reaction - and that will be just fine with the folks at Mollydooker. The 2009 vintage was excellent for Mollydooker and the result is a catalog of wines that are amazing. The 2009 Carnival of Love Shiraz is incredibly dark in the glass and full of wonderful fragrant aromas of dark fruit, licorice, vanilla, black cherry, mocha and sweet smoke. On the palate is a chewy and luscious, mouth coating wine that is full of ripe dark fruits, mocha, sweet baking spices, black cherry and smoky oak. The flavors are defined but blend perfectly to create a wine that dances in the mouth and lingers for minutes. Outstanding - no, make that beautiful!

I have been very honored to taste a few different wines from Bugay Vineyards, and with each bottle you know you're drinking something special. The 2007 Syrah contains 100% Bugay Vineyards fruit and this is a wine that is unforgettable. Incredibly dark purple in the glass, this Syrah has explosive aromas of blueberry, smoke, licorice, floral bouquet and dark plums. On the palate is a juicy and solid wine that is layered with flavors of blackberry, blueberry, sweet tobacco smoke, chocolate, spice and hints of leather. The wine finishes full and long in the mouth. As with all of the Bugay wines, this one is packaged in a very attractive and regal bottle and the gold lettering is impressive to say the least. This wine contains 98% Syrah and just 2% Mourvedre. Drinking beautifully now and will for at least 7 - 10 years if stored properly.

This just released red blend wine from Cellar No. 8 consists of eight grape varietals (hence the name) that include 79% Petite Sirah, 7% Grenache, 5% Merlot, 4% Mourvedre, 2% Syrah, 1% Zinfandel, 1% Cabernet Sauvignon and 1% Sangiovese. The winemaker, Paul Rydquist, has created a very tasty and versatile wine just in time for cool fall weather and tailgating. The wine is a lovely deep violet in the glass with juicy aromas of red and blue berries, baking spices and lavender. In the mouth is a light to medium bodied juicy display of ripe juicy berries, red licorice, hints of peppery spice and sweet tobacco leaf. This wine is a fantastic bargain for the price and should be on your drink list for your fall barbeque!
