2010 Mollydooker The Violinist Verdelho

Mollydooker's only white wine is The Violinist, which is a Verdelho and the 2010 vintage is a great alternative to the American-dominated Chardonnay wine market.  This wine has fresh aromas of lemon zest, pineapple, spring flowers and pear.  It is full bodied and intensely creamy in the mouth but it still doesn't feel weighted down at all.  The flavors of citrus, honeysuckle and sweet spices dance together beautifully and there is just the right amount of acidity to keep your palate wanting more.  This wine is a superb choice for many poultry or fish dishes, but it can also be a summer sipper.  If you're used to Mollydookers incredible line up of red wines, you should give this wine a try.  I have no doubt that you will love it.

2009 Hunnicutt Zinfandel

This Napa Valley Zinfandel from Hunnicutt is big, bold and just an overall incredibly good wine.  Comprised of 90% Zinfandel and 10% Petite Sirah, this dark red wine has a boquet of aromas that include fresh raspberry jam, cherry cola and tons of mocha.  The tannins are chewy, yet playful and the feel of the wine is full in the mouth.  A very flavorful combination of the red raspberries, blackberry, mocha, cedar and plum are integreated flawlessly and create a wine that is excellent with barbeque or on its own.  If you love Zinfandel, this is a wine worth checking out.

About Hunnicutt Wines:
Hunnicutt Wines believes, as the Midwest Wine Guy does, that wine should be enjoyed and should not be intimidating!  This family owned and operated winery focuses on Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay.

2005 Galante Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Blackjack Pasture

The 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon from Galante Vineyards has the Blackjack Pasture designation and it is the signature wine from Galante.  This wine has spent a few years in the bottle and is drinking amazingly right now.  Dark plum skin in the glass with a myriad of aromas that include blackberry, cassis, tar, red licorice and chocolate.  In the glass is a wine that makes you feel rustic with the dark fruit flavors, leather, cooked marshmallow, and raw spices that combine for a flavor that is charming and mouth watering.  Great finish and softer than expected.

2008 Monks Gate Pinot Noir

The 2008 vintage Pinot Noir from Monks Gate is young and tight but approachable now with some decanting.  Great red color to the rim and the aromas of fresh red and black fruits are bursting from the glass.  On the palate, the firm acidity does not overwhelm the cherry, spice and blackberry flavors, but rather enhances it; add in the well rounded tannins and you have a delicious and memorable wine that lingers in the back of the throat.  Well done!

About Monks Gate Vineyard:
Crowning a hillside in the Willamette Valley Pinot Noir region are the vineyards of Monks Gate. Trappist Monks from the nearby Abbey had long trod a path among the blackberry bushes and scrub oak that once covered the Willakenzie soil. Grapevines now soak up the summer sun by day and are cooled by the coastal influence at night.

2008 Brooks Janus Pinot Noir

The 2008 vintage Janus Pinot Noir from Brooks Wine is a medium red wine with a lot of character and depth.  Dark berries, cherry and spice are the base for the wonderful aromas.  On the palate, the same dark berries carry over and blend with fresh earth, spices and flower petals to create a sensuous flavor combination that dances in the mouth.  This wine is medium bodied and carries a subtle mineral backbone that combines with fine tannins for an incredible finish.
