2008 Truchard Vineyards Merlot
This is an extraordinary example of a tasty Merlot. This 2008 Merlot from Truchard Vineyards is a dark red to medium purple in the glass and despite its youth, very fragrant with aromas of ripe blueberries, juicy black cherries, vanilla, spices and lightly toasted cedar. In the mouth you get a medium palate of black and red jammy fruits, vanilla, baking spice and sweet smoke. The finish is candied sweet cherries and perfectly formed supple tannins. Great blend of 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc, which helps soften the tannins and allow you to drink this without regret right now. Drink now or for the next 12 - 15+ years.
