2008 Deep Sea Red

This amazingly dark purple wine from Conway Family Wines under the Deep Sea label is a blend of Syrah, Petite Sirah, Lagrein, Merlot and Mourvedre grapes.  The aromas leaping from the glass are complex and bountiful, including blackberry, red raspberry, braised short ribs, and dried spices.  In the mouth is a very lively and sweet wine that settles to a more plush feel mid palate.  Flavors presented include blackberry jam, cherry cola, sweet tobacco leaf and just a touch of oak.  The wine tastes wonderful and the finish is very long and mouth watering.
