2006 Peter Franus Napa Valley Red Wine
Peter Franus has created a very complex and intriguing Bordeaux blend with this 2006 Napa Valley Red Wine. It is a blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. The result is a red ruby thing of beauty with lifting aromas of black cherry, smoky oak, chocolate, flower petals and cinnamon spice. The flavors are stunning and inviting - cherry tobacco, vanilla, coffee bean, smoky meats and currant. This is not a fruit bomb, but rather a very complex and wine that makes you appreciate the skill and terroir that went into the bottle. This wine is drinking very well right now but has the ability to cellar for 10 - 12 years.
